Solving problems bigger than you.
This past week has been full of reflection and long days, but I often find it discouraging that I can't do something to fix all of the problems out there. There are so many causes I feel strongly about, but it's hard to have the time to tackle all of them.
Here's what I'm learning though: the weight of the world was never meant to rest on one person's shoulders. When we spread ourselves too thin trying to address every issue, we risk becoming ineffective everywhere instead of impactful somewhere.
Focus creates impact.
Instead of feeling guilty about what we can't do, what if we chose one or two causes that truly align with our strengths and capacity? What if we gave ourselves permission to do those things well, rather than doing everything poorly?
The people who change the world don't do it by solving every problem—they do it by solving their problem with excellence and consistency. Your passion for multiple causes shows you have a good heart, but channeling that heart toward focused action is what creates real change.
This week, I'm challenging myself (and you) to identify one cause where we can make a meaningful difference. Not because the others don't matter, but because this is where we can actually show up fully.
You can't save everyone. But you can change someone's world. And sometimes, that's more than enough.
Until next week—praying for your success,
James
