From Spectator to Player

Today marked UT Austin's first home game of the season (that's me, James in the photo above). Under those blazing stadium lights, surrounded by over 100,000 roaring fans, I had an unexpected moment of clarity.

While everyone around me was caught up in the excitement—cheering, eating, drinking—I found myself asking a different question: What am I actually doing with my life?

Don't get me wrong. I love football. But sitting there, watching the first half drag on for over two hours, I realized something profound: I'd rather be the one people are cheering for than the one doing the cheering.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying the game, but I refuse to spend my best years as a spectator to my own dreams. I have goals—big ones—that only I know about. Goals I've been talking myself out of pursuing because they seemed too ambitious, too risky, or too different from what everyone else is doing.

But here's the truth: In that stadium of 100,000 people, only 22 were actually on the field making things happen.

The Choice

Every weekend, we get to choose: Do we want to be in the stands, or do we want to be on the field of our own lives?

I'm choosing the field. I'm choosing ownership over comfort, growth over entertainment, and accountability over excuses.

If that resonates with you—if you've felt that stirring inside that says "I'm meant for more than this"—then you're in the right place.

This newsletter isn't just about digital products or business strategies (though we'll cover plenty of that). It's about building a life of intention, where your actions align with your deepest values and biggest dreams.

It's about becoming the kind of person others look up to, not because you're perfect, but because you refuse to settle for mediocrity.

Ready to step onto your own playing field? Hit reply and tell me about one goal you've been putting off. Let's hold each other accountable to becoming players, not just spectators.

Until next week—praying for your success,

James
