Taking time to unwind.
This past week marked my first full week of classes as an engineering student at UT Austin, and honestly? It completely threw me for a loop. Between juggling coursework and navigating the chaos of career fairs, my usual rhythm got turned upside down.
If you know me, you know I thrive on routine. When that gets disrupted, it can feel like I'm constantly playing catch-up with myself. That's exactly why I've learned to be intentional about carving out time to rest and reset—it's not just nice to have, it's essential for getting back into my groove.
I realize how fortunate I am to have pockets of time for genuine relaxation, but here's what I've discovered: even when life feels impossibly busy, there are small ways to create breathing room. Maybe it's putting your phone in another room for a few hours, taking a walk without a destination, or simply sitting with your morning coffee without scrolling through emails.
Your mind and body are constantly working for you—they deserve those moments of quiet gratitude in return.
This week's challenge: I'm encouraging you (and myself) to find at least one intentional moment of rest in the days ahead. It doesn't have to be perfect or long, just genuine.
Until next week—praying for your success,
James
P.S. What does rest look like for you? I'd love to hear how you recharge when life gets overwhelming.
